Sequoia Christmas Trees

An unusual choice found mainly on Sierra foothill farms, with soft drooping foliage and an informal shape.

Giant sequoia and its relatives turn up on a handful of California choose-and-cut farms as a curiosity and a cheaper alternative to fir. The foliage is soft, scaled rather than needled, and hangs in loose drooping sprays.

The shape is informal rather than the tidy cone most people expect, and the branches won't take much weight. Choose it for novelty and for the fact that almost nobody else on your street will have one.
